Yale professor Laurie Santos is coming to Sun Valley to reveal “What Makes Humans Happy: Psychology and the Good Life.”
Santos will offer the free talk at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood in Ketchum. Her lecture is St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation’s featured Health and Wellbeing presentation for 2019.
Santos is a professor of psychology and cognitive science and an expert on human cognition, its origins and the evolutionary biases that influence our life choices. Her work focuses on how positive psychology can make us happy and fulfilled.
Hint: It’s not necessary lots of money, prestige and accolades. And little brain glitches often interfere with the road to happy.
Santos’ course, Psychology and the Good Life, is the most popular class at Yale in 316 years.
And it helped her become one of popular Science Magazine’s “Brilliant 10,” and a TIME Magazine “Leading Campus Celebrity.” Her TED Talk has attracted more than a million views and she was recently featured at the Aspen Ideas Festival.
