Sun Valley has suddenly become chicken dinner central for Washington politicians raising funds (as if there was a chicken dinner circuit in Sun Valley!)
Joe Biden was the latest to announce he’ll be coming to Sun Valley.
The former Vice President, who is running for the Democrat nomination for President, announced he and his wife Dr. Jill Biden will appear for a seated dinner at the home of Ambassador Alan Blinken and Melinda Blinken on Monday, Aug. 5.
Tickets are $2,800 per person, available at https://secure.joebiden.com/onlineactions/ZSS2e_dfnEqZgFpb18GpYg2.
Biden is the third to give Sun Valley some love. Washington governor Jay Inslee, known for his attention to climate change, participated in a fundraiser on Sunday, July 21. And Tim Kaine, who had hoped to be Vice President under Hillary Clinton, took part in a Common Ground reception fundraising dinner at Gail Severn Gallery on Saturday.
The funds raised Saturday evening were to help support Democrat Senators up for re-election in 2020, as well as newcomers running for the Senate. The fund will focus support on candidates whose priorities are on “economic opportunity, not partisan politics.”
Kaine, the honorary chairman of the fund, provided an update at the dinner. And it’s said he even indulged a few requests to play his harmonica.
