The Wood River Women’s Foundation will present a panel of professional women who will discuss charitable giving opportunities and impacts from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21.
The women will discuss tax laws, financial strategies and how to assess the impact of giving.
Panelists include:
- Terri Bullock, the new president of the Wood River Women’s Foundation and a retired corporate auditor
- Sandra Clapp, estate and trust attorney
- Cate Cox, marriage and family therapist, and
- Suzanne Hazlett, financial advisor and creator of the new Giving Guide of the Wood River Valley, which provides information about Wood River Valley nonprofit organizations.
“The collective expertise of these women offers a unique opportunity to improve philanthropic efforts throughout the valley,” said Louisa Moats, WRWF education committee chair. “This forum will help identify the financial and legal strategies available, as well as the personal and psychological benefits of charitable giving.”
The Wood River Women’s Foundation’s mission is to inspire and educate women to become leaders in philanthropy in order to create positive change in the community through pooled grant-making. The foundation has grown from 27 founders in 2005 to more than 350 members today with each member contributing $1,000 annually.
