BY KAREN BOSSICK

After a cool, somewhat drippy week, what could be better than a soak in a hot springs?

How about a hot springs with live music to boot!?

Daniel Rodriguez, the Colorado singer-songwriter who spent a decade touring with the transcendental folk band Elephant Revival, will perform at Trinity Hot Springs on Saturday, Sept. 21. He will be accompanied by the California Honeydrops featuring Darren Garvey, the drummer for Elephant Revival and the Shook Twins; Arthur Lee Land on electric guitar and Zack Jackson on bass.

They will be joined by High Pine Whiskey Yell, Abby Bright, Travelin’ Miles and Honey Bear.

Rodriguez is known for the melodic hooks he plays on his acoustic guitar to accompany his poetic, contemplative folk songs. Elephant Revival, which he co-founded, released six albums and performed at countless festivals across the nation and overseas.

Rodriguez headed out on tour as a solo artist after Elephant Revival went on hiatus. In that capacity he’s performed with such artists as Josh Ritter. Among those who performed at the Sawtooth Valley Gathering near Stanley, he has released an EP of solo songs titled “Your Heart The Stars The Milky Way.”

Trinity Hot Springs is at 1020 N. Warm Springs Drive in Featherville. To get there, follow Highway 20 west from Fairfield to the large white gravel tent. Turn onto the Pine/Featherville Road towards Anderson Reservoir. Pass the reservoir and follow the road, turning right at the Pine Bar and Café. Continue five miles, crossing the Johnson Bridge after the Elk Flats Campground. Turn right across the road from a red gabled house with an A-frame roof just after Grouse Creek Road.

The event, designed for all ages, kicks off with yoga at 10 a.m. Travelin’ Miles 7 honey Bear performs at 4 p.m., followed by Abby Bright at 5 p.m. and Arthur Lee Land at 6.

Daniel Rodriguez performs from 8 to 9:45 p.m. with High Pine Whiskey Yell performing from 10 p.m. to midnight inside the lodge.

A Wake Up Yoga will follow at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.

Tickets for adults are $45 purchased in advance and $55 the day of the show. Tickets for youth between 5 and 17 cost $25 and children four and under, $15.
