The ballet stars of tomorrow will take the stage on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Argyros Performing Arts Center in Ketchum.

Pre-professional dancers from the San Francisco Ballet School will perform both classical and contemporary works in the show, which starts at 7 p.m.

They will perform three world premieres by choreographers Karen Gabay, Dana Genshaft and Alexandre Cagnat.

Pre-professional dancers are at the highest level of training at the San Francisco Ballet School. They are selected for the program, which provides tuition and housing scholarships, by Patrick Armand, director of the San Francisco Ballet School, and Helgi Tomasson, artistic director and principal choreographer for the San Francisco Ballet.

Some have studied in the San Francisco Ballet School for years; others have joined the program after training with programs in France, Japan, China, Italy, Spain, New York and London.

They perform in many San Francisco Ballet company performances. And they have performed as a group in such venues as the New National Theatre in Tokyo, Palais Garnier in Paris, The David H. Koch Theater in New York, with the San Francisco Ballet at The Kennedy Center and at the Shanghai Grand Theatre and Suzhou Grand Theatre in China.

Former dancers from this program have gone on to join some of the most celebrated companies in the world, including San Francisco Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, Boston Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, English National Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet and Royal Danish Ballet.

“Sun Valley audience members will have the opportunity to see the future of ballet, as these highly trained dancers ready themselves for the next stage in their careers,” said Armand.

The dancers are being brought to Sun Valley by Ballet Sun Valley, a nonprofit organization that brought San Francisco Ballet to Sun Valley this past summer and Isabella Boylston’s ballet festival to Sun Valley the previous two summers.

Tickets are $20, $40, $60 and $80, available at www.theargyros.org.
