An Interfaith Labyrinth Walk will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Ketchum.
Community members are invited to join with people of different faith traditions to walk the labyrinth together in unity. Or skip, dance or roll along.
You may pass people or even let others step around you as people journey toward the center rosette.
The labyrinth is an ancient form used for walking meditation in many cultures. The one at St. Thomas Episcopal Church was designed according to the 13th century design laid in the floor at Chartres Cathedral in France. The center rosette is a symbol of human and divine, with the six petals symbolizing the six days of creation for some.
It’s a way to let go of things in your daily life, listen and allow yourself to receive, reflect on a question, quiet your mind, pray and express gratitude.
Docents will be on hand to offer a simple orientation. And Ellen Sanders, who plays cello for the Sun Valley Music Festival orchestra, will provide musical accompaniment.
