It’s either a reason to shout, “Hallelujah!” The hole’s about to be filled.
Or, it’s the City of Ketchum’s biggest nightmare on Main Street.
At any rate, a sign boasting Trump Tower is coming appeared on Monday next to the hole in the ground that Jack Bariteau promised to fill with a hotel a few years ago.
Nick Harman saw the banner while headed to work at the Argyros.
“It’s certainly a little commentary on the situation we have on South Main Street,” he said, referring to the big crater in the ground.
Ketchum City Council member Michael David called it a "very clever practical joke with a strong underlying message about the priorities in our community."
"And, ironically, there are $1 million of in lieu affordable housing funds that will disappear if the hotel does not get built in that location," he added.
The banner had vanished by Tuesday evening.
