FIRE STATION BOND:
The City of Ketchum is putting forth a $11.5 million general obligation bond to build a new fire station that would replace the current station that has been housed in a former car dealership in 1979. Property owners would pay for the bond via a temporary increase in taxes that is expected to be $20.52 per year per $100,000 of property value based on a 25-year repayment at 3.15 percent.
The station would be built on vacant city land next to the Northwood Place residential development on Saddle Road.
SUN VALLEY
Mayor Peter Hendricks and City Council members Jane Conard and Michelle D. Griffith are running unopposed.
KETCHUM
Incumbents Michael David and Jim Slanetz are vying with Sawtooth Botanical Garden Director Jen Smith and career candidate Mickey Garcia for two 4-year term City Council seats
HAILEY
Martha Burke is a shoo-in for mayor as she is running uncontested.
Attorney Sam Linnet is running for Seat 3 on the Hailey City Council against incumbent Jeffrey l. Engelhardt.
Juan Martinez, a Wood River High School coach, is running against incumbent Pat Cooley for Seat 4 on the council.
BELLEVUE:
Three candidates are running for three 2-year terms as alderman: Kathryn Goldman, Chris Johnson and Shaun Mahoney.
Former Blaine County Drug Coalition’s Amber Larna and certified public accountant Alexis Lindberg are vying for a 4-year term as Blaine County School District trustee.
CAREY:
Jon Hoopes and George Versis are running for two 4-year terms on the City council.
Kirstin Cutler is running uncontested for a 2-year term.
Amber Larna and Alexis Lindberg are vying for a 4-year term as Blaine County School District trustee.
WOOD RIVER FIRE DISTRICT
Dennis Kavanagh and Seth Martin are vying for one 4-year term in Subdistrict 1.
KETCHUM RURAL FIRE DISTRICT
Current Commission Chairman Jed Gray is being challenged by Ketchum firefighter and business owner Gray Ottley for the District 3 seat.
WHERE TO VOTE:
Ketchum will vote at a new polling place--The Community Library.
North Blaine County residents vote at the Wood River Community YMCA and Sun Valley residents at Sun Valley City Hall.
In Hailey residents of Quigley, Deer Creek, Northwest Hailey, Northeast Hailey, Southwest Hailey and Woodside neighborhoods vote at the Community Campus.
In Bellevue residents of Bellevue and Poverty Flat vote at Bellevue Elementary School.
Carey residents vote at Carey City Hall and Gannet and Picabo residents at the Silver Creek Convenience Store.
