Terry French has painted an enigmatic oil painting of “Sleeping Wolf.”

James Bourret has created an immersive 72-inch acrylic print of lake and sky.

Tina Cole has three new monotypes she made at Vita Brevis Press depicting local landscapes, including one on the way to Triumph and another near Stanley.

Tina Cole’s monotype is titled “A Good Day in Stanley.”

These are among the new works of art on exhibit at Friedman Memorial Airport.

The SUN Art exhibit features 65 works of art created by 35 artists. And the airport is inviting the public to toast the artists during an open house and reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the airport passenger terminal.

Refreshments will be provided, and the airport is validating the parking tickets of those who attend. But you can count it as your daily workout if you want to see all the art. It’s spread throughout the airport from the departure lounge to the bus waiting area and the hallway at the southern end of the terminal.

The exhibit was installed by volunteers and representatives of Gail Severn Gallery.

Sharon Payne Bolton’s 61-by-41-inch “Majestic” is in the hallway at the south end of the terminal.

This is the eighth exhibit at the airport since airport representatives joined hands with the Hailey and Ketchum Art commissions to create a way to showcase the talent of Sun Valley-area artists.

The SUN Airport Art Committee receives sponsorship from the airport and hands-on support from Gail Severn and volunteers. Any artist who creates artwork inspired by Central Idaho is invited to submit an application. New art is hung on the walls every November and May, creating a new look in the airport to greet winter visitors and summer visitors.

Nicole desChamps’ “El Bujo” and “Los Aves” are hanging in the waiting room opposite baggage claim.
Tina Cole’s “Entry to Triumph” is one of three monotypes hanging at the airport.
