If you’re want festive and magical, you’re in the right place.
Sun Valley Resort made the list of “15 Festive Hotels That Make the Holiday Season Even More Magical.”
The list, put together by Travel+Leisure, touted Sun Valley among its top picks for a jolly December vacation.
“Get into the spirit with a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow offered every half hour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,” wrote Patricia Doherty. “On Dec. 24 the Skating in a Winter Wonderland ice show will entertain with professional skaters and classic holiday music. The Torchlight Parade down Dollar Mountain follows the show, and hot cocoa will be served.”
Dang, she forgot the cookies!
Other hotels making the cut include La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, Calif., which transforms into Bedford Falls in honor of frequent guest Frank Capra, who wrote “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Opryland got the nod for three million lights, 15,000 poinsettias, 15 miles of garland, a 48-foot-tall Christmas tree and sculptures carved from 7,000 giant blocks of ice by 40 ice artisans from Harbin—the home of china’s famous ice festival.
And Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina, in Oahu, Hawaii, boasts a Hanukkah candle lighting ceremony each evening during Hanukkah, with Santa’s arrival by outrigger canoe on Christmas Day.
