Giving Trees full of angel tags are sprouting in local businesses.
Wood River Valley residents may pick angel tags off the trees, shop for the listed items and return the new unwrapped gifts between now and Friday, Dec. 13. The gifts will be given to children whose families are among those receiving holiday baskets from Sun Valley REALTORS Give.
The trees are being placed at Zions Bank on Main Street Ketchum; Bank of the West, 600 Sun Valley Road in Ketchum, and DL Evans Bank, 609 S. Main St. in Hailey.
Zions Bank’s Hailey branch is also collecting holiday toy donations for The Advocates, which assists families suffering from domestic abuse. New, unwrapped toys for The Advocates may be dropped off between now and Dec. 17 at the bank, which is at 111 N. 1st Ave., next to Java in Hailey.
The Toy Store is pitching in by offering 10 percent discounts to customers bringing in an angel tag from a Giving Tree. The store has branches at 102 Washington Ave. in Ketchum and at the Sun Valley Mall.
Tracy Groll said Zions Bank was pleased to help the Sun Valley REALTORS and The Advocates help “the most vulnerable members of the community.”
“The holiday season is a critical time to make a difference for families in the valley and Zions Bank is proud to contribute to these important programs,” said Groll, Zions Bank region president.
