You’d better watch out. You’d better not pout.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
The jolly ol’ man, who graduated at the head of elf school way before any of us were reflecting the twinkles in the Christmas stars, will make his 2019 Sun Valley debut during the City of Ketchum’s Holiday Lighting ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
He will return on Friday, Dec. 6, for Hailey’s Holiday Tree Lighting.
Wednesday’s fun kicks off with cocoa and cookies at 4:30 at the Ketchum Town Square. Caritas Chorale and Wood River High School’s Enchante girl’s choir will help usher in the season with familiar carols. And then Santa Claus will make his appearance.
The scene will be repeated again at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Blaine County Courthouse in Hailey where Mayor Fritz Haemmerle will light Hailey’s holiday Tree. The courthouse is located at the corner of 1st and Croy streets.
There’ll be hot chocolate and cookies and, Santa, of course. And Caritas Chorale and Enchante will offer an encore performance of Christmas carols.
Afterwards, duck into the warm of the WRHS Performing Arts Theater at the Community Campus in Hailey for a free concert featuring the Caritas Chorale singing holiday songs. Friday’s concert starts at 7 p.m. Another concert will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the WRHS Performing Arts Theater.
