Ballet Sun Valley is offering three days of free classes in conjunction with its performances by Pacific Northwest Ballet on July 13 and 14.
Dance instruction will be offered in all levels of ballet. There will also be contemporary dance instruction and a choreography workshop.
Pacific Northwest Ballet dancers will teach the classes, along with faculty from Pacific Northwest Ballet School. The Seattle-based school, led by Artistic Director and dancer Peter Boal, was founded alongside the company in 1974 and is recognized as one of the top three ballet training institutions in the United States.
Ballet instructors will include Boal, Naomi Glass and Benjamin Griffiths. Also, Lesley Rausch, Kyle Davis, Giovanni Villalobos and Kiyon Ross. Choreography will be taught by choreographer Eva Stone, who launched a nationally recognized choreography program titled “New Voices: Choreography and Process for Young Women in Dance” at Pacific Northwest Ballet School.
Dancers who take part in the classes will receive tickets to the Ballet Sun Valley performances presented in the Sun Valley Pavilion.
The free program is being made possible by the generosity of the nonprofit Ballet Sun Valley sponsors.
Additionally, there will be a free presentation at Ketchum’s Community Library at 10:30 a.m. July 14. Peter Boal and dancers will offer a glimpse into the life of a ballet company, a dancer and the creative process.
