Wood River Valley residents are being asked to share what the Big Wood River means to them in this year’s reimagined Wood River Land Trust Riverfest.
The Riverfest, with its concert, free ice cream and celebratory atmosphere, will not be held on July fourth this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
But WRLT hope that people will take a moment to write about a beloved memory, or sketch a picture of how the river flows through their daily life. The stories and pictures will be hung in Story Stations in the Draper Wood River Preserve in Hailey, Howard Preserve in Bellevue, Colorado Gulch in Hailey and Box Car Bend Preserve south of Ketchum.
WRLT staff then hope that people will walk along the banks of the river to watch trout spawn below the Bow Bridge in Hailey and to be inspired by thoughts hanging in the Story Stations.
“Even if you can’t make it to the valley this summer, the Wood River Land Trust still wants to capture your story,” said Liz Pedersen. “We hope you will share it at www.woodriverlandtrust.org.
