Expect traffic delays beginning today if you plan on driving US 26/US 93 south of Carey.
The Idaho Transportation Department will begin work on seven miles of highway between milepost 196 to 203 today. Construction is expected to last through August.
“Working during the warm summer months will allow us to complete rehabilitation and also sealcoat the highway to help preserve the road during the upcoming winter season,” said ITD Project Inspector Chuck Sharp.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. A pilot car will lead traffic through the construction zone.
This is one of three remaining projects designed to address the area. The general contractor is Western Construction of Boise.
