Economic Researcher Looks at Chinese Economy

The focus during the past six months has been on China and the novel coronavirus.

But tonight Dr. Chang-Tai Hsieh will discuss “What is the Chinese Economic Model?” during a free livestream offered through The Community Library.

The presentation is part of the annual Judith and Marshall Meyer Lecture on China. A Q&A will follow.

Wednesday was another bad day for Idaho with 430 new cases of coronavirus bringing the total to 8,969, reports Paul Ries. Blaine County had one new case for 544 total; Twin Falls County, 29 new cases for 756. Three new deaths have been reported in Canyon County and one in Washington County, bringing the total to 98.

Chang-Tai Hsieh conducts research on growth and development and has published such tomes as “The Long Shadow of China’s Fiscal Stimulus,” “A Global View of Productivity Growth in China” and “The Transformation of the State Sector in China.”
