The Wood River YMCA is staging a free showing of the movie “Coco” at 7 p.m. tonight—Thursday, Oct. 1.
Moviegoers are invited to bring their blankets and lawn chairs for the movie, which will be shown on the north parking lot.
Moviegoers must reserve a group pod and wear masks until they’re seated. They may bring their own refreshments.
The 3D computer-animated film produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures revolves around a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead.
There he seeks the help of his great-great-grandfather, who happened to be a musician, to return him to his family. Might grandfather also get them to reverse their ban on music?
The movie was inspired by the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead. It has become the 16th highest-grossing animated film ever. And it won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (“Remember Me.”).
