COVID has put the kibbosh on the traditional Thanksgiving buffet at Sun Valley Resort.
But Sun Valley chefs are exhorting you to bring the tradition home this year.
“We wish we could celebrate in person, but our community is showing unity by celebrating responsibly,” they wrote.
Sun Valley’s take-home Thanksgiving feast includes roasted turkey, honey glazed ham, mashed potatoes sage stuffing, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, homemade semolina rolls, honey wheat rolls, pear walnut salad and dessert. Cost: $179 for a family of four.
Dinners can be reserved at 208-622-2135. They can be picked up between noon and 5 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Sun Valley Inn.
You can still eat Thanksgiving meal in person at The Ram and Gretchen’s.
Gretchen’s will offer in-person Holiday Roast Turkey dinners.
And The Ram will offer a menu of Holiday Turkey with sausage sage dressing, Beef Tenderloin with blackberry demi-glace, Sea Bass, Ricotta Cavatelli. Augmenting the entrees: warm beets, winter salad, roasted cauliflower soup and holiday butter scones with spiced apple butter. Desserts include flourless chocolate cake, rum raisin bread pudding and roasted pumpkin and vanilla cheesecake.
