“Preventing the Devastating Impacts of Growth” will be the subject of a presentation by the Wood River Land Trust on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Shawn Hill, executive director of the Valley Advocates for Responsible Development in the Teton Valley, will make the presentation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Ketchum’s Community Library.
The presentation is the first of three in the Land Trust’s Thinking Globally, Acting Locally Speaker Series this winter.
Idaho is the fastest growing state I the country, in part because of its wild free-flowing rivers, easy access to hiking trails and clean air. But too much growth could have a devastating impact on the very way of life people move here for.
Hill has been working on the Teton View Regional Plan, which covers four counties (Fremont, Madison, and Teton counties in Idaho and Wyoming), seven cities and two states and is adjacent to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. He will discuss the key findings that led to the development of the plan and the lessons learned along the way.
Hill will be joined by Scott Boettger, executive director of the Land Trust, who will field questions from the audience. While free, registration is required. To register, go to https://www.comlib.org
