If you wondered where the name came from…well, yes, they are relatives of tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allan Poe.

If you want to get specific, Larkin Poe was their great-great-great- grandfather and a distant cousin of Edgar Allan Poe.

Reecca and Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe have created their own, rather tortuous, brand of gritty, soulful roots rock ‘n roll. And, no “it’s not your basic Stevie Ray Vaughan-styled blistering blues rocks,” according to American Songwriter. “It’s far more primal, malicious and unsettling.”

See what the fuss is about when Larkin Poe brings their “beguiling mix of Gothic soul” and their “bewitching Southern gothic darkness” (according to Uncut and Planet Rock Magazine), to Festival Meadows.

The Grammy Award-nominated duo will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in Sun Valley’s Festival Meadows. The concert is presented by The Argyros and part of the duo’s tour for their most recent albums, “Self Made Man” and “Kindred Spirits.”

Tickets start at $20, available at https://theargyros.org And, if you want to go in style, $60 VIP tickets get you a private bar, premium viewing area and restrooms!
