Sun Valley Museum of Art will again offer its free Afternoon Art program for the fall 2021 season, giving kids and their caregivers a special opportunity to enjoy art-making together.
The program will be held at The Museum in Ketchum on select Friday afternoons in October. Each offering will consist of two separate 50-minute sessions, starting at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Designed for families with kids who are 5–12 years of age, Afternoon Art will be offered Oct. 1, 8 and 15. Together, families will make art and explore the exhibition. Projects will vary each week, and projects for the upcoming session include:
Oct. 1 – Animal Sculptures
Oct. 8 – Watercolor Meadows
Oct. 15 – Felt Collages
“We are excited to bring back our Afternoon Art family program,” said Katelyn Foley, Director of Education & Humanities. “This fall session will take place over three different weeks, and the projects will explore the mediums and themes celebrated in the exhibition Untrammeled: At Wilderness’ Edge.
Pre-registration is encouraged, but The Museum will accommodate walk-ins if space allows. To reserve a space or learn more about the program, contact Sun Valley Museum of Art at 208-726-9491, send an email to information@svmoa.org or visit svmoa.org.
All of the projects are designed for families with school-age children to create and work together. Families will have 50 minutes in the museum and are encouraged to take advantage of this family time to experience the exhibition.
