J. McLaughlin is hosting a special holiday shopping fundraiser Friday and Saturday to raise money for the Warm Springs Preserve.
The dress shop at 520 E. 4th St. in Ketchum will donate 15 percent of sales to the fund to buy the Warm Springs Preserve from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 26-27.
Customers can shop via phone if they can’t visit the store in person. Those who do buy something during the two days will get complimentary gift wrap and shipping.
“We’ll have treats for all, including shoppers’ furry friends who are invited to stop by, as well, said Sarah Howe, who manages the shop.]
Supporters have contributed $3.5 million so far with a month left to go to meet the $4.5 million deadline the developer is asking for by the end of the year. People can also support the effort on Giving Tuesday—Nov. 30. Visit https://warmspringspreserve.org to learn more.
“What do we think of the preserve? Ask my dog Ted!” said Sarah Howe, who manages J. McLaughlin. “Seriously, we love everything about the preserve and so do our doggies. Sixty-five acres of unspoiled beauty, right in Ketchum where we can meet friends, walk with our dogs in the forest, along the creek or through the meadow. Peaceful respite.”
The preserve’s plans will make it even more accessible with cross country ski and snowshoe trails, picnic areas and more, noted Howe.
“We’re so fortunate that (landowner) Bob Brennan has presented this unique opportunity to Ketchum,” added Howe. “We’re thrilled that we can do our part to save this very special gem, in our wonderful community.”
