Looking for something to do over Memorial Day Weekend?
Sun Valley Resort will hold a free pickleball clinic intended for beginner to intermediate players from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29. The clinic will be open to all ages and skill levels with paddles included.
There also will be an intermediate clinic focused on mastering essential shots, control and strategy.
The clinic will be held at the Tennis & Pickleball Center, which is now open for the summer season from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends.
- Sun Valley Resort will also open its Gun Club and Olympic Pool over the weekend, and the Brass Ranch at River Run Plaza will open for the summer season with a half-price sale on skis, skiwear and sportswear.
Golf pass prices increase Wednesday, June 1, and so do prices on next season’s ski pass. Buy ski passes in person at the River Run Ticket Office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Tuesday, May 31, or call 1-888-490-5950.
- Eating your thing? The Sun Valley Culinary Institute is holding a Wine Bar with wine and appetizers with Louise and Joseph from 5 p.m. until closing on Friday, May 27.
- The BCRD’s Aquatic Pool will open for the summer on Saturday, May 28. The pool features a 25-yard, six-lane pool with a basketball hoop and climbing wall and a zero-depth leisure pool with a log roller. There also is a snack bar.
- The Community Table/La Mesa communitarian and Neighbor Helping Neighbors are hosting a party at J&J Trailer Park near St. Luke’s Wood River from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 28. The party is designed as an end-of-year school celebration with fun and festivities. And the tenants will be holding a yard sale and food sale to raise money for their impending move.
- The Community Library is kicking off its summer reading program for kids, tweens and teens from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 29 with crafts, snacks and more,
- Silver Creek Preserve is holding its free opening day BBQ from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the new Conservation and Education Center at 165 Kilpatrick Bridge Road.
- The Bellevue Museum will open for the season on Sunday. It will be open from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday through the Summer.
- Also open for the summer is the Blaine County Historical Museum, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 31. New this year: An exhibit on a local history of mountaineering.
- The Hailey Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at 10:45 a.m. at the Hailey Cemetery. It will include a flyover.
