The Advocates are again asking the community to help Color Our World.
Wood River Valley residents are invited to purchase a Ribbon of Hope from now through the end of June. The ribbons will be attached to the trees in Ketchum’s Memory Park beginning June 24—each symbolizing a single donation towards eradicating domestic and sexual violence.
The ribbons will all be hung by July 1.
In addition to the ribbons, The Advocates are offering a raffle that includes a five-night stay in San Diego, a 2022-23 Sun Valley Challenger Ski Pass, a River Run season parking pass, two nights at Hotel Terra in Jackson Hole, a Sawtooth Valley concert package, $1,000 in local restaurant gift cards and a mini-vacation at Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch.
New this year: A Ribbon Round-Up on July 1 at Whiskey’s in Ketchum. Tickets are $50 per person and include drinks, appetizers, whiskey tasting and line dancing.
Ribbons, raffle tickets and Ribbon Round-Up tickets can be purchased online at https://www.theadvocatesorg.org/. Or, contact Shannon Nichols, director of development and engagement, at 208-788-4191 or shannon@theadvocatesorg.org.
Money from the ribbons, raffle and line dancing will help The Advocates provide safety to survivors of abuse and their children and offer skills and resources to those trying to take steps toward better lives. Last year The Advocates answered an average of 59 requests for assistance a day. The organization helped 62 sexual assault survivors and provided 19,112 nights of safe housing.
