D.L. Evans will cut the ribbon on its new Bellevue branch on Tuesday.
The event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7. The actual ribbon cutting will take place at 5 p.m. There’ll be giveaways and refreshments.
D.L. Evans was founded by David Lloyd Evans in Albion, Idaho. Evans, born in 1854 in Brigham City, Utah, moved with his mother and brothers to the Malad Valley in 1871 where they homesteaded a 160-acre farm, hoeing the sagebrush by hand so they could plant crops.
He and his brothers taught school in Malad, Samaria and Weston before opening mercantile stores in Malad City and American Falls. He started the bank with $25,000 in 1904 in Albion. It was Cassia County’s first bank.
Today D.L. Evans Bank is headquartered in Burley with branch offices in 28 Idaho towns, including Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue.
The Bellevue bank opened during the pandemic but postponed the ribbon cutting to a time when the community could embrace it.
