Men’s Second Chance Living house received a makeover last week, thanks to a number of Zions Bank employees who rolled up their sleeves and went to work rolling paint brushes.
Zions Bank employees provided a fresh coat of paint, yard cleanup, pruning, mowing, planting and minor repairs to 30 homes across Idaho and Utah this past week as part of Zions Bank’s 30th Paint-a-Thon service project.
The Paint-a-Thon helps elderly, disabled and veteran homeowners take pride in their homes and maintain their independence. The Hailey project spruced up a home that helps men living with addiction succeed in their recovery by providing them with safe, affordable and sober housing while they take advantage of counseling and other support services.
Zions Bank provided the cost for paint and other supplies. Wise Guy Pizza and KB’s kept the workers fed.
“After Paint-a-Thon was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic, we’re so excited to be back in our communities to mark our 30th Paint-a-Thon by transforming 30 homes,” said Zions Bank employee and Paint-a-Thon team captain Rick Lethbridge. “We look forward to this service project every year and find great satisfaction in transforming the homes and yards of our neighbors in need.”
Zions Bank’s Paint-a-Thon began in 1991 for a dozen homes along Utah’s Wasatch Front. Since, bank tellers have painted 1,221 homes through Idaho and Utah, with more than $1.3 million donated towards paint and other supplies.
The average age of this year’s homeowner is 75 with an average yearly income of $24,489.
Founded in 1873 Zions Bank operates 25 branches in Idaho, including one in Ketchum and one in Hailey. It has 98 additional branches in Utah and Wyoming.
