Check out the latest in cutting-edge sculpture, ceramics, woodwork and more when the 53rd Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival takes place in Ketchum’s Atkinson Park.
The free juried fine arts show starts Friday, Aug. 12, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 14. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
There’ll be food trucks, a live music and a kids’ activity area. And—new this year!—well-mannered dogs on a leash may walk the festival but may not go in any artist booth.
This year’s artists include Flagstaff woodworker Michael Thiele’s hardwood musical instruments, glassweaver Mark Lewanski of Portland, Mich.; Zion Warne of Garden City, Idaho, with his art glass that spells out things; Chattanooga sculptor John Petrey with his sculpted dresses, and Colombia artist Guilloume, who creates interesting bronze reliefs and sculptures depicting the depths of relationships between lovers, parents, friends and acquaintances.
