Raise your stein to Oktoberfest.
The 9th annual Ketchum Oktoberfest will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17, at Sun Valley’s Festival Meadows on Sun Valley Road.
There’ll be plenty of beer to go around, including Lost river Lager and Oktoberfest! along with red wine and whiskey barrel-aged Standhope Doppelbock, hard cider and root beer. There’ll be warm Bavarian pretzels, schnitzel with slaw and pickles, bratwurst and even a vegan plant protein-based bratwurst on the side.
Doghaus will perform from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. That band will be followed by three bands on Saturday: Allegedly from noon to 2:30 p.m.; Corn Mash from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. and the David Henry Band from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Into games?
The Big Corn Hole Tournament starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday. It costs $25 for a team of two.
Beer Olympics—a chance for a team of four to compete for Das Boot—will challenge team members’ skills at cornhole, axe throwing, stein hoisting, speed chugging and flip cut. The entry fee is $45 for a team of four and that includes the beer involved in stein hoisting and speed chugging.
Finally, the Stein Hoisting competition will be held at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Friday and at 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 p.m. Saturday.
Sign up for any of these at the event.
