Learn how trail use during the 2022 hiking season compares with that of the 2021 season on Thursday when the Wood River Trails Coalition discusses its trail monitoring program.
WRTC Program Coordinator Emily Rodrigue will present the totals from 2022 and tell how land manages are using this data at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Ketchum’s Community Library.
The Coalition completed a comprehensive trail use survey that counted 130,000 trail user days across the Ketchum Ranger District in the summer and fall of 2021 with support from the Ketchum Ranger District Trails Program and the Environmental Resource Center.
It was able to purchase additional infrared trail counting devices in 2022 with the help of the SPUR Community Foundation.
In addition to presenting trail counting data, Rodrigue will discuss the new Ground Truthing Volunteer Program.
Those who wish to attend the presentation in person may RSVP at https://thecommunitylibrary.libcal.com/event/9726707.
The program will also be livestreamed and available to watch later at https://vimeo.com/753084104.
