The Kiwanis Club of Hailey is on a roll with the city’s parks.
The Club is now raising funds to buy new playground equipment for Heagle Park in Hailey.
Kiwanis members want to raise at least $20,000 to purchase a new play structure, swing set, benches and spring rider.
The club has already received $3,000 from the Little Black Dress Club, said Kiwanis member Bob Wiederrick. It also has received $2,000 from The Papoose Club, $2,000 from the Heart of Gold Foundation and $2,500 from Kiwanis international.
Additional income comes from the aluminum cans that valley residents contribute to a collection bin at 4051 Glenbrook Drive in the Woodside Business Park near Power Engineers.
The City of Hailey has budgeted $15,000 to install the equipment once it’s purchased.
The Kiwanis Club cut the ribbon last fall on new playground equipment at Foxmoor Park, which sits on the south end of East Ridge Drive. It provided new equipment for nearby Deerfield Park the year before.
Much of the playground equipment around the city had become unsafe to play on, Wiederrick said.
