Bald Mountain was not in the mix when Sun Valley Resort opened in 1936—those laying out the ski slopes thought it would be too tough for folks.
That was certainly not a concern on Thanksgiving Day as hundreds of skiers and snowboarders flocked to the 9,150-foot mountain with ski runs laid out like a peace sign.
