Laugh for a good cause when Higher Ground hosts its second annual Comedy Club.

The night of comedy—a benefit for Higher Ground therapeutic recreation program—will be held at 7:30 p.m.  Saturday, Jan. 18, at The Argyros in Ketchum.

Taking the stage will be:

Hayes MacArthur, who plays the father in Bobby Farrelly’s touching but very funny Christmas movie “Dear Santa.” MacArthur, the great nephew of actress Helen Hayes, also has had roles in “Angie Tribeca” and “The Morning Show.” He bought a home in Sun Valley during the COVID pandemic and not only fell in love with Sun Valley but also fell in love with Higher Ground and its work with veterans, first responders and individuals with disabilities.

Brent Morin, who introduced the laughs to Netflix’s “The Stand-Ups,” a collection of recordings of stand-up comedians

Jay Chandrasekhar, the man behind the “meow” in “Super Troopers” about five Vermont state troopers who are pranksters with a knack for screwing up. He also is founder of the Broken Lizard Comedy Group.

Beer and wine will be included with the tickets.

“This event will bring the community together for an evening of laughter and fun, all while supporting a worthy cause,” said Cara Barrett, Higher Ground's associate director. “We’re excited to feature such a talented lineup of comedians, and we hope everyone comes out to support our local adaptive programs.”

Tickets are available at https://www.theargyros.org/calendar/comedy-for-a-cause.

Seating is on a first come, first serve basis with the exception of VIP and Premium ticket holders. Those who would like to sit together can email Cara@highergroundusa.org with the names of guests.
