The National Ballet of Canada will perform “Pas de Deux” from “Swan Lake Act II and III,” “Bolero,” and several other classical and contemporary pieces during two performances at the Sun Valley Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday.

The Ballet will also premiere three pieces never seen in the United States during its June 28 and 29 performances, according to Kelli Quinlan of Ballet Sun Valley. Performances start at 7 p.m.

The National Ballet of Canada is performing for the first time in Sun Valley as part of Ballet Sun Valley’s annual ballet festival. It will present different programs featuring a mix of classical and contemporary works set to a live orchestra and recorded music each night.

"I am delighted The National Ballet of Canada will be making its first appearance at Ballet Sun Valley with a program that highlights both Canadian and international choreographers, including three US premieres by Canadians Emma Portner, Jennifer Archibald and the National Ballet’s Resident Choreographer David Dawson,” said Hope Muir, artistic director of The National Ballet of Canada. “These works showcase the skill and dynamic versatility of our artists, and we look forward to sharing them with Sun Valley audiences.”

The National Ballet of Canada is returning to international touring this season after a five-year hiatus. The Ballet Sun Valley Festival is their only U.S. tour stop with other 2024-25 tour stops in London and Paris.
