Give of yourself to save lives on Wednesday.

St. Luke’s Wood River Volunteer board is hosting a community blood drive with the American Red Cross from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the hospital’s Baldy and River Run conference rooms.

The blood drive is a way to give doctors and nurses an opportunity to help save lives, said Co-Chairs Teresa Laird and Cheri Watson.

Blood is a perishable product that can come only from human blood donors. Someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds so blood products must be constantly replenished. O negative, A negative and B negative blood types are especially in demand.

“There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life,” added Watson and Laird.

Those wishing to donate can sign up online at www.redcrossblood.org with the sponsor code Ketchum. Save time by completing a RapidPass, completing the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online. Follow the instructions at www.redcrossblood.org/RapidPass.
