STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

The City of Ketchum is lending Santa a fire truck in order to rest up his reindeer before they go on their journey of thousands of miles around Planet Earth. And Colla Voce will provide some warm tunes as the City of Ketchum lights up its Christmas tree Wednesday night.

The holiday lighting kicks off at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7. Santa will arrive in style on a fire truck, the Wood River High School women’s group Colla Voce will sing Christmas carols and there’ll be plenty of cookies and hot cocoa to go around.

Meanwhile, kids are invited to write their Christmas thoughts to Santa and drop them off in an extra special mail box that provides a direct connection to Santa. Apparently, Santa doesn’t do Twitter, Facebook or Instagram!
