STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

Kids ages 3 to 13 are invited to “Glide to Freedom” this coming Sunday as the Papoose Club holds its annual Nordic Cup race.

Nordic Cup 2023 will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Quigley Nordic Center in Hailey. The race is free and open to all kids ages 13 and under. The Papoose Club is presenting it with the help of Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation and Blaine County Recreation District.

Children are encouraged to dress in red, white and blue costumes in keeping with the theme “Gliding to Freedom.”

Kids can use classic and skating techniques. There will be an obstacle course, refreshments and awards. And Smiley’s Photo will be on hand for those wishing photographs of their young’uns.
