Hailey ArborFest will help kick off the 2023 Farmers Market Season in the Wood River Valley on Saturday.

Hailey Tree Committee members will give out free Ponderosa pine, Rocky Mountain juniper, Western larch, Lewis Syringa/Mock Orange, Bur Oak, Black Hawthorn, River Birch and Redstem Ceanothus  seedlings at the Hailey market. They also will offer tree advice and share information about Hailey’s Native Plant Arboretum and Heritage Tree Program.

The Wood River Farmers Market will launch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Roberta McKercher Park. It will run on Saturdays at that location throughout the summer.

The Ketchum market is moving to Forest Service Park at First and Washington streets. It is also moving to a new time—noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning June 14.

Forest Service Park will provide more shade than the River Run parking lot where the Ketchum market has been held the past few years, said Carolyn Helmke. But that meant moving from Tuesdays to Wednesdays to avoid running up against Ketch’em Alive.

“We wanted to move to a shadier spot, and Forest Service Park is a great public amenity that we thought would work well with the size and scope of our event,” said Helmke. And, of course, we could not dare ask to take Ketch’em Alive's Tuesday spot! Working with the City, we all agreed that Wednesday would be the best fit.”

The Wood River Farmers Market is approaching its silver anniversary, having been established in 2000. This year’s market will feature produce, ready-to-eat foods, meat and fish, baked goods, canned specialties, cut flowers, jewelry, clothing, CB products, popcorn and chips and a few surprises.

New vendors will include Lava Lake Lamb, The Wylde Beet vegan food truck and Shelley and Mike’s Flowers and Produce. And Christina Giordani will be selling craft cocktails out of her Roadbars mobile bar at the Ketchum market.
