We got enough precipitation this weekend to coat Baldy and surrounding Nordic trails with a nice chunk of snow. But, alas, Mother Nature forgot to turn the thermostat down, and the snow doesn’t like to stick around when it’s 50 degrees outside.

In response, Sun Valley Resort is holding its annual Pray for Snow Party from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at River Run Lodge.

There’ll be a live DJ, dancing, a vintage ski costume contest, and raffle prizes at the free party with an opportunity to dance the sow into existence.

Bring healthy dried goods, such as canned meat, dry beans, and cold cereal to donate to the Hunger Coalition and get raffle tickets for epic prizes.

There will be a Pray for Snow dinner menu with drinks and fun snacks such as a $6 pulled pork slider, $7 chicken street taco, $14 loaded nachos dish, and $6 pizza by the slice.

Do a good job of praying and partying and you’ll be jumping and jiving less than three weeks from now on Thanksgiving Day as Sun Valley Resort kicks off its 88th winter season.
