The story of a professional cyclist who left the professional circuit at the top of his game to pursue climbing will be screened Wednesday night at the Wood River Community YMCA in Ketchum.

The exclusive world premiere of “Transcendence,” which tells the story of Adrien Costa who was forced to reinvent himself after losing his right leg during a rock climbing accident, will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Y.

It will be shown alongside “If It’s Easy, It’s Not Fun.” That film shows world champion climber Liv Sansoz on a climb in Jordan’s Wadi-Rum desert. Viewers will also get a chance to watch Australian Olympian Lucy Stirling as she attempts to rediscover her passion for outdoor climbing in the Australian Blue Mountains. And they will get to watch rock climbing, bouldering and slacklining in settings like Western Australia’s Sterling Ranges.

The short films are part of the Climbing Film Tour. Now in its fourth year, the tour features films selected by the Vertical Life climbing team to go on tour around the world.

It is sponsored locally by the Roy A. Hunt Foundation and globally by JJordan Tourism. It is supported in Australia by Arc’teryx, Scarpa, Thermos, Wild Earth, GME, theCrag and Capital Brewing.
