Four Wood River High School students have earned the chance to compete at the District IV state drama competition on Friday and Saturday at Century High School in Pocatello.
Elena Tamayo distinguished herself in the Solo Audition during the District IV Drama competition on Nov. 18 at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. Eva Hatzenbuehler will represent her school in Original Serious; Scout Kendall, in Solo Humorous, and Sophia McKnight in Pantomine.
They will go up against other young thespians from southern Idaho on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1-2.
Others taking part in the 2023 District Drama Team in Twin Falls were Lydia McCauley, Hunter and Kennedy Ervin, Madi O'Very, Sheccid Chona, Andrea Pettinger, Diana Gomez Cibrian, Reese Herold, Anna Wiese, Charlie Blake and Jaxon Lewis.
“It was a good year with many young future Wood River High School theatre practitioners getting much needed valuable experience competing for the first time,” said Karl Nordstrom, theatre teacher.
