Did you know that one blood donation from you can be used to help up to three people?

Consider giving to the 5th annual Higher Ground Blood Drive to honor former Higher Ground volunteer Steve Adam.

The blood drive will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at the Sun Valley Boiler Room. Those who would like to donate can sign up at https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=Steve

If appointments fill up, contact George Caton at wtcaton@gmail.com to be on the waiting list. Caton says every year there are a few cancellations the day or two before the blood drive and being able to tap into people on the waiting list helps fill all the appointments.

Caton says Sun Valley boasts one of the best collections per capita in Idaho. And that’s a good thing, he adds:

The Red Cross of Idaho needs to collect about 250 units of blood every week to meet demand.

Each donor’s blood can be used to help up to three people.

Every two seconds someone in this country needs lifesaving blood.  That includes cancer patients, premature babies, accident victims and countless others.
