See the inspiring true story of a young man born with one leg whose indomitable spirit and unbreakable resolve empowered him to defy the odds and pursue his dreams when Sun Valley Film Festival presents “Unstoppable” tonight.
The Film Festival will present “Unstoppable” at 5:30 p.m. tonight—Thursday, Nov. 7—at The Argyros in Ketchum. The screening is part of its Monthly Movie Series.
This is not the “Unstoppable” action thriller of 2010 that featured Denzel Washington trying to prevent a freight train carrying combustible liquids from wiping out a city.
This “Unstoppable” tells the story of Anthony Robles, played by Jharrel Jerome, who found wrestling at 14. He rode the love and support of his devoted mother, played by Jennifer Lopez, and the encouragement of his coaches to win a spot on the Arizona State wrestling team.
Hiss ultimate quest: To be an NCAA champion in the 125-pound weight class.
The film is based on his book “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated,” which describes winning 96 matches with zero defeats during his junior and senior seasons of high school and his uphill battle from there to persevere at the collegiate level.
