Grammy-nominated Pianist Joyce Yang will be in conversation with Sun Valley Music Director Alasdair Neale at Wednesday’s Upbeat with Alasdair.

The discussion will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Ketchum’s Community Library.

Yang rose to fame in 2005 as the youngest contestant and silver medalist at the 12th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.  She was awarded the silver medal at that competition when she was 19.

The 38-year-old pianist from Seoul, South Korea, will headline the Sun Valley Music Festival’s free Winter Season concerts being held Thursday through Saturday, March 6-8, at The Argyros in Ketchum. The concerts are full, but those who would like to see it may add their names to a waitlist at https://www.svmusicfestival.org/2025-winter-season-waitlist/.

Yang is also participating in music workshops with young music students while here.

Wednesday’s talk will be livestreamed and available to view later at https://www.svmusicfestival.org/.
