The Idaho Transportation Department will commence work at night on Highway 75 south of Ketchum from Monday, June 30, through Wednesday, July 2.

Work will occur between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., and there will be lane restrictions.

The department will cease night work over the July 4 weekend from Thursday through Sunday and resume it Monday, July 7, through Wednesday, July 9.

The City of Ketchum had requested that ITD work at night to expedite construction of Highway 75 from Elkhorn Road through the Trail Creek Bridge. Construction is slated to last into October.

ITD has ben advised of motorcades coming through ferrying the likes of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Rupert Murdoch to the Allen & Co. conference July 8-12.

No one’s said as much, but perhaps they could also consider dropping in the guest by helicopter. Or, at least taking them to Sun Valley Resort from the airport in a party bus.

ITD is widening the highway to five lanes between Elkhorn Road and Serenade Lane. The department is widening the highway to three lanes with bike lanes and sidewalks between Serenade Lane and River Street.

It also is widening the two-lane Tril Creek Bridge to three lanes with bike lanes and sidewalks and installing a traffic signal at the Serenade Lane junction.

Half of the highway is being constructed this summer. The other half will be done from May to October 2026.
