Tony Tekaroniake Evans will discuss his book, “A History of Indians in the Sun Valley Area,” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Hailey Town Center West.

There will be books available to purchase and a book signing afterwards.

Evans, a 35-year resident of the Wood River Valley, earned a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology/biology from the University of Colorado-Boulder.

He has authored five books, including “Teaching Native Pride,” “Believing in Indians” and “A Mixed Blood Odyssey.” A member of the Mohawks of Kahnawa’ke in Quebec, he is currently producing a documentary about salmon recovery in the Sawtooth Valley with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.

“A History of Indians in the Sun Valley Area” was published in collaboration with the Blaine County Museum.
