Boise State University is presenting aa Sawtooth Writing Retreat under the stars of Idaho Sept. 18-21.

The retreat, presented by the Hemingway Center, will be held in a secluded mountain camp in America’s first Dark Sky Reserve 17 mile from Ketchum.

The three day retreat will provide instruction from Kim Cross, author of “What Stands in a Storm;” Paul Bogard, author of “The End of Night,” and Anna Caritj, author of “Leda and the swan.”

It will include evening talks and readings around campfires, stargazing with professional telescopes and guides and a panel discussion about wildfires with climate change and wildfire scientist Jen Pierce; Jennifer Ladino, an environmental humanities scholar, and Chad Fisher, retired National Park Service Branch chief of Wildland Fire.

Meals will address all dietary needs. Attendees can camp on site or secure lodging in Ketchum.
