Spur Community Foundation is inviting Wood River Valley residents to take their charitable giving to the next level through the nonprofit organization’s new Purposeful Giving Program.
The program is a free, seven-session, remote learning experience designed to help donors give with clarity, confidence, and greater impact. The first session begins on Wednesday, October 16, and registration is now open at spurfoundation.org/donor-education.
Through a mix of seven guided Zoom sessions, personalized one-on-one support, and optional in-person gatherings, participants can create a strategic giving plan that aligns their philanthropy with their deepest values and goals.
“This program is designed for anyone who wants to be more intentional and effective with their giving,” said Sally Gillespie, executive director of Spur Community Foundation. “Whether you’re just beginning your giving journey or have years of experience, Purposeful Giving will help you bring focus and fulfillment to how you contribute to the causes you care about most.”
Participants will learn how to:
Clarify their “why” — the personal motivations and values behind their giving
Identify the causes and issues that matter most to them
Select giving methods and vehicles that best fit their goals
Monitor and evaluate the difference their giving makes
Reflect, share, and learn from others on a similar giving journey
“I’m excited to take part in the Purposeful Giving Program because I want to be more thoughtful and strategic with my giving,” said Lisa Stelck, who has already registered. “I’m hoping to gain clarity about the issues I care most about and learn how to make a lasting impact with the resources I have.”
Registration is required before the first session on October 16. To learn more, visit www.spurfoundation.org/donor-education.
WHAT IS THE SPUR COMMUNITY FOUNDATION?
It’s a Ketchum-based nonprofit inspiring effective philanthropy in the Wood River Valley by helping people to give purposefully and local nonprofits to achieve maximum impact. Spur nurtures the “give-back” spirit that defines the community, said Gillespie.
