Those wishing to scoot some skinny skis around can now do so.
Blaine County Recreation District groomers have begun grooming ski trails around Galena Lodge after rolling and packing the snow down this weekend.
The groomed trails come as skate and classic lessons begin at Galena Lodge this week.
With only about six inches of snow, conditions call for rock skis. But, for now, skiers can ski on the Senate Meadows Loop, Ted’s Angle, Nello’s Cut, Jenny’s Way, Gladiator Creek Loop, Cabin Loop and the Harriman Trail from Owl Creek to the lodge.
Dogs are allowed on Northwood Trail, Titus Creek Trail and the trail from the lodge to the southern Cabin Loop junction.
Galena Lodge has opened for the season and is serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. And the grooming report should become more timely as groomers begin grooming earlier in the morning.
