A Community Square Dance will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at the Upper Big Wood River Grange in Hailey.
Ava Honey will do the calling, while the Live String Band performs the music.
Tickets are $15 for singles, $25 for couples and $5 for teens.
Square dancing involves four couples arranged in a square. Although it contains elements from English country dances and French quadrilles, it’s best associated with the United States because of its association with the American cowboy and farmer.
Thirty-one states have designated it their official state dance.
One need not have a partner to take part in Friday’s dance.
The grange is located at 609 S. 3rd Ave. in Hailey just northwest of Roberta McKercher Park.
