Learn how to attract pollinators to your garden when the Wood River Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society presents a free talk on Wednesday.
Horticulturist Mindy Ryder will discuss landscaping with native plants at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Hailey Town Center West adjacent to the Hailey Public Library.
She will discuss native pollinators and what plants they best utilize, among other things. Some of her favorite include the native yarrow, whose abundant flowers are available over a long bloom season. Also, the prairie smoke. Ryder has been collecting the seeds of the plant trying to grow it in her nursery High Desert Roots.
Ryder has been working with plants for more than 25 years as a landscaper, on trail crews and farms and in native plant nurseries throughout the United States. Her nursery is in Bellevue.
